Zinc Recovery & Pump Systems
Zinc isn’t cheap, and a fair amount of it ends up as dross, ash, and skimming during the dipping process if there’s no system in place to recover it. A zinc recovery and pump system captures usable zinc from waste by-products and moves molten zinc where it’s needed within the plant, cutting down on material loss that otherwise adds up significantly over months of continuous operation. For plants running high volumes, the difference between having proper recovery and not having it can show up directly on the raw material cost line.
Electrical Control Panels
All motors, heaters, pumps, and cranes in the galvanizing unit have to be controlled from somewhere; this is done through an electrical control panel. The control panel houses the components that enable the monitoring and controlling of the furnace temperature, heating of the tanks, operating of the cranes, and other safety interlocks in a coordinated manner. A well-built panel setup is what lets an operator manage the plant from a central point instead of manually checking each piece of equipment individually.
Plant Supervisory Control System
Once a plant has several automated systems running furnace, cranes, pumps, control panels someone still needs a single point to see what’s actually happening across all of them at once. Plant supervisory control systems gather information from control panels and equipment at individual locations into one interface, typically SCADA or PLC, allowing operators to get a view of temperature, cycles, and errors throughout the facility without having to walk to each control panel to view the status.
